WHAT A MESS. Just check into all to be educated before you begin. Best of luck, sistah. As you have seen, I love me a good project! I would definitely sand lightly and prime then get a really good spray paint. It tends not to feel "sticky" on wood. Spray light coats or it will run. The use a good clear coat finish. As for color, I love chocolate, as anyone who steps into my house will see, but its hard to get a pretty chocolate finish. Mine always seem to look a little "poopy" and I end up painting them black. Except for this one mirror in my bathroom. I left it brown. I figure "poopy" is okay in the john. I feel you on this one!
