There are so many good Christmas songs to choose from, but for me the one that stands out the most is Reba Maccentire’s version of “The Christmas Guest”. Although she’s not the original singer, she sings it the best. The song to me is more of a story that is told/sung with stunning beauty and emotion.

I LOVE Elf too! “I just like to smile, smiling’s my favorite” Baby It’s Cold Outside it probably my favorite secular Christmas song.

My all time favorite Christmas hymn is O Holy Night.

I LOVE the song “How Many Kings” by Downhere. You can listen to it for free on google. Just type the title in and it’s the first thing that pops up. It’s amazing!
My other favorite is “Sleigh Ride” probably by anyone but Neil Diamond might top my list. :)

I am totalling loving the version of “Chrismastime is Here” by Mercy Me although the original version on the Charlie Brown Christmas Special is still far better!

I also love the Christmas Album that Sufjan Stevens did. There are some traditional tracks but many are original and awesome. There is a version of Holy, Holy, Holy that is exsquisite!!!

anything Christmas sung by Bing Crosby — something about his voice and the scratchiness of the old music (even on cd sound) just makes me remember being little when my grandparents would come over early Christmas morning to see us discover what Santa brought.
Oh, what happy memories!

– I looove Third Day ANYTHING, so Christmas music by them, BRING IT.
– Celine Dion’s and Andrea Bocelli’s The Prayer on her Christmas cd
– Baby It’s Cold Outside by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan DEFINITELY
– Mary, Did You Know (it doesn’t matter who sings it. I love it because my son, even at 12, cries every time he hears it. That alone, makes it one of my favorites.)
– and hands down, my very favorite Christmas sound happens when I close my eyes and I so very clearly hear my Grandmama singing “Away In A Manger” and “Silent Night” standing next to me in church. I remember the feel of her hand in mine, her distinctive, sweet soprano voice… there’s nothing as beautiful to me on the radio or in my cd player. This will be my 3rd Christmas without hearing her sing beside me in church and at the piano in the living room….

okay, gonna go now and change my facebook picture to me and her.
and maybe cry a spell.

Girl…that’s a sweet list! I am a huge Casting Crowns fan. Mark Hall went to seminary with my hubby way back when!
So….I love seeing his success! And it’s well deserved!

I agree….I’m not a multiple Christmas song liker either! Give it to me once…then buzz off!
I mean that with all the love in my heart…really! :)
