Break or No Break…..

….I just have to show you how awesome my kid is!

This is the youth blacklight drama that our kids have been working on diligently for the past couple of months under the fearless leadership of Cheryl and Shaunta. I had never seen this type of production so I had no idea what to expect. I knew my oldest son had been working hard on something, but I hadn’t gone to any of the practices to know exactly what. To say I was blown away was an understatement. The live performance was powerful – to the point of making me burst into tears. I hope you find it just as shout-worthy! I can not say enough how incredibly proud I am of my boy and his friends!

(And if you are wondering, I’ll be back soon…:)

I don’t even have two seconds to be on the computer this morning but wanted to pop in and share one single verse that got me going this morning:

Psalm 119:43

“Do not take your word utterly from my mouth, for I wait for your ordinances”..

I’m going to be real honest and say that my brain has felt numbed after the intense time of writing I’ve just completed on my book. In fact, I wondered if God would grant me anymore insight – ever.

I’ve been reading in Psalm 119 and the heartfelt plea of the writer (who theologians believe was probably a priest) resonated with me. I’ve been asking God to revive and renew my heart. To help me move on to fresh wonders in His word. And most importantly, to never have a stale faith.

What occurs to me is that when those insights return after a wait, they are far more precious. The important thing is that we are indeed longing for those words to come and not walking away in impatience. I’ve been looking for God to flood my heart again, and in this past week, He’s reminded me of his lovingkindness and willingness to pour into the spirits of those of us who are tenacious with His commands. I for one will not let go until He blesses me.

He does. Over and over.

And I praise Him.
