Good for her.
And “they” make me so weary. She said “I believe”. And folks immediately say “government shouldn’t discriminate against” and all sorts of other sweeping statements.
She expressed her personal opinion and belief. She did not make a law, attack anyone else, or do anything inflammatory. Why are “we” the only ones who have to be tolerant of those with different beliefs?!
love it
ps as for advertising on your blog I need to advertise Jenny Kwon Do
Atta girl.
She’s gonna get some FLACK for her belief. I pray she continues to stand up for it.
I was clapping my hands all by myself in my living room last night after she answered that question. Sad thing, though, I knew it would cause an uproar! And it did. Go girl!
That is so great that she was willing to ACTUALLY say what she believes. Very proud of her!
Jamie
what ticks me off is that they asked that question in the first place
They were totally setting her up
It use to be that the contestants had questions about politics, education or the environment
To ask that a question about same sex marriage is ridiculous
And then to blast her about it is judgemental
What makes me angry is that the gay-rights supporters want equal rights and want to be heard but when we express our opinions we are blasted and then insulted
Ok I am going to have to stop now b/c I am on FIRE
Love you girl
Kim
From moving around the United States, I have noticed that we tend to be prejudiced and make judgments about people from different states…I’m guilty, because as soon as I read about this, I thought, “Wow…and it’s coming from Miss California?!” Good for her for speaking her mind, and shame on those who would try to deny her the freedom to have her belief and speech. Beware, though…as one of our favorite pastors used to say, “First we are expected to tolerate, then embrace, then that’s not enough, and we have to celebrate.” You can see it, can’t you?! Getting off the soapbox and going to rummage for some dinner!
Lisa, hope you and the family had a great, restful trip!
I. love. her.
I watched the whole thing last night, and didn’t really have a favorite up until that moment. I was ECSTATIC that she took a stand.
okay…so my question is: why are gay men attending a beauty pagent that is all women? hahaha
good for her!
i just now saw this tonight…and GOOD FOR YOU GIRLFRIEND!!!! She’ll be ok. I have a feeling she’s a strong woman! ;)
Isn’t it astounding how she’s getting flack for this? Why not appreciate and support her strength for speaking the truth, her truth and how she lives and conducts her life?
I think she should have gained points for living true to her word. Our good name is all we have on this earth. Stand up for what you belive in. YOU GO GIRL!
ROCK ON Miss California!
I saw her on The Today show today. I’m so proud of her.
And Perez Hilton…barf on him for not allowing her to have an opinion contrary to his own.
ABSOLUTELY! Oh and Ruth A Stiles’ comment…HILARIOUS!
