Hey there! I’ve just caught up on the EIGHT posts you’ve written while I was juggling cats. So…

    Congratulations to Squid…that’s awesome!

Did you know that my two oldest boys are also beginning the 6th and 4th grades this year? My girl is 1st, and of course the 2 year old is just hanging out! Of course, since I homeschool, I won’t be sending anyone off anywhere…which makes me happy and a bit sad all at the same time. LOL!

I’ve missed hanging out with you, but The Man is off to the deer lease this weekend, so I can read blogs and write blogs without his comments for two whole days!!! I plan to catch up with all my friends and comment to my heart’s content!

So, I’m off now to feed the offspring, and then I’m on to visit more friends!

And of course, I enjoyed all your posts…as usual. You do have a gift sister!

Oh, that just hurt my heart just thinking of someone who feels like “nothing”, but you’re so right, there are so many precious women that do feel that way, and the majority of us have been there at least one time or another in our lives. If women could just really grasp who they are in Christ (and then just stay in that awesome place). Thanks for this great devotion!

Welcome!

Hi... I'm Lisa and as the tagline says, also a preacher's wife. I began this website in 2007 just prior to the Facebook revolution when mom blogs were a relatively conflict-free zone for sharing recipes and stories about our latest parenting fails.

Fast-forward a few years...

Luke and I continue to serve the same family of believers in North Alabama where we've called home for over 16 years.

The boys are grown and gone, we have an incredible daughter-in-law and the baby McKay is living her best life as an only child while working and going to college.

I am a full-time corporate employee and still love to write and teach Scripture. The last two years haven't been kind to public events but it's been during these trying times that the Lord has revealed the importance of the local church reclaiming discipleship using the gifts of those within the body. The time feels right to refresh the blog as a platform for sharing how God has worked through this process and perhaps encourage other churches to follow. And who knows, there may even be a recipe or more parenting fails. Those don't stop when your kids become adults.

Thank you for visiting.. I look forward to connecting!

My Book

Are you a ministry wife who could use words of encouragement for navigating the ins and outs of serving the church? I wrote a book for that very purpose. Check it out here!
