Oh my goodness! That’s a lot of money for gas!

Granted, I have a 40-gallon tank Suburban, but geesh…I wanted to cry when I saw this! The gas attendant actually offered her condolences when I went to pay.

Oh girl. Makes me want to cry, too. We also have a 40- gallon tank Suburban, and this is exactly what we paid last time we filled ‘er up. Needless to say, it’s been spending a lot of time parked in the garage while we run around in our smaller car.

It’s worth it…just keep repeating that over and over and over…

Makes you wonder why you tried so hard to find it in the parking lot at Target, huh?!

Ouch! Doesnt that make you want to cram all your kids’n’stuff into some itty bitty Honda? You could make it kind of a punishment!

“If you aren’t good at Target, you have to sit crammed in the Middle, AND hold all the groceries in your lap!”

    It could work!

Or get a couple of motorcycles with buddy seats….LOLOL! That would sure get some attention around this town!

It’s currently £1.20 here which I reckon even with my real bad maths is SO much more expensive here.
Oh my, Oh my, I have taken to walking everywhere (only because I want to get my moneys worth out of my Silver Cross pram for Lucy!) this is good but have you seen our weather?! We SO have to emigrate, got any ideas where?

Oh that makes me absolutely sick! I hate to have to spend so much money for gas when there is really NO reason! NONE! Maybe things will get better after election!

Oh wow. There is a lot I could do with $160. that is shocking.

Oh my goodness! How much is gas where you are? Its $4.27 here. Costs about $75 to fill my car, I thought that was horrible until I saw this post!

    Ohhhh myyyy WORD!

Please tell me that at your gas station you can also buy M&M’s, shoes, purses and other useful things at the pump. Then, and only then, is it reasonable.

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe that. I knew it was bad but…Well, let’s just say that one good thing about having been moved across the world to the Middle East by Hubby’s career aspirations is cheap gas. I drive a Chevy Tahoe, which is just a bit smaller than a Suburban and I pay (don’t throw rotten tomatoes at me!) about $15 to fill it up – at full service stations!

OUCH. Big, ugly, OUCH. I’m sorry. Really eats into that vacation gas money you saved up, doesn’t it?

Hope you have a good vacation despite the money crunch! =)

Just think of how many cute outfits we could be buying with that money.

Of course without gas, we’d have no where to go with our cute outfits.

But then again, we probably wouldn’t misplace our car if it was parked in the driveway.

And I am saying “we” throughout this comment because I somehow think we are twins separated at birth with the whole amnesia ‘thang’…

    Have mercy on us both.

Ouch. I only fill up my Suburban half way to make myself feel better. I know it is silly, but somehow it works.

    View July 12, 2008

Wow! You actually found a pump that lets you fill all the way up. It seems so often, the ones I use cut off at $70 or $75 then I have to start over.

Thank God He’s our Jehovah Jireh!! We can trust HIM to meet our needs!

    Blessings in Christ-

The price of gas makes me want to say really ugly things about people who sell oil and make fun of their mother and kick their dog and tp their yard….so I try not to think about it. Gives me a better excuse to lay around the house and be L A Z Y too. :)

  31. Patty
    View July 12, 2008

Good Grief that is pitiful!! I pray after I fill the car up that God would multiply the gas and make it last longer than normal and God answers that every time. I pray that for your family. I have had you on my mind all day. Have a great time at the beach!!
    Love,
    Patty

Loving the penny. I think the pumps at the local station are rigged. It’s like you can’t just deal with the agony of the $160.

Be thankful you don’t have a diesel. Our dually has two tanks and is costing us well over $200 to fill them up now. WELL OVER.

    Makes me sick.

Welcome!

Hi... I'm Lisa and as the tagline says, also a preacher's wife. I began this website in 2007 just prior to the Facebook revolution when mom blogs were a relatively conflict-free zone for sharing recipes and stories about our latest parenting fails.

Fast-forward a few years...

Luke and I continue to serve the same family of believers in North Alabama where we've called home for over 16 years.

The boys are grown and gone, we have an incredible daughter-in-law and the baby McKay is living her best life as an only child while working and going to college.

I am a full-time corporate employee and still love to write and teach Scripture. The last two years haven't been kind to public events but it's been during these trying times that the Lord has revealed the importance of the local church reclaiming discipleship using the gifts of those within the body. The time feels right to refresh the blog as a platform for sharing how God has worked through this process and perhaps encourage other churches to follow. And who knows, there may even be a recipe or more parenting fails. Those don't stop when your kids become adults.

Thank you for visiting.. I look forward to connecting!

My Book

Are you a ministry wife who could use words of encouragement for navigating the ins and outs of serving the church? I wrote a book for that very purpose. Check it out here!
