At Some Point I Will Make it to the Beach
I’ve mentioned a time or three that Luke and I are spending a few days out of town. And since that statement alone is a bit vague, I’ll elaborate by sharing we are in fabulous Panama City Beach with two of our best friends on this earth, Chuck and Debbie. We make this trip in the fall every year and I can’t say enough about its restorative powers in both our personal life and ministry.
Since I am incredibly busy lying on the couch watching a disturbing amount of television while still in my pj’s at 2 p.m., I thought I would leave you a couple of links on a discussion we had this same time last year about the importance of Hubby/Wife Time.
Interested? Check out this and then the follow up.
I’d love for you girls to take a look so we can refresh our conversation on the importance of nurturing marital relationships.
Tell me, what do you do to set aside time for your man?
As for me, I’m hoping for a walk on the beach at some point in our trip. So far, having nowhere to be with no time to get there has trumped anything resembling exercise.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some more big fat nothing to get back to..
That alone time is something we both work dilligently on, as we own our business and “house” our office about 7 miles from our home.
So, even though our offices are just a few feet apart, it is very difficult at times to converse on any level during the hours dedicated for work.
We enjoy time with others, but there simply comes a point when my Man blesses me with a date invitation….just the two of us.
We are headed out of town this very weekend, after having arrived back home the end of October after many days on Maui.
Yes…we do place a priority on our “time”.
Lovingly,
Yolanda
Would so love to have nothing to do……there is a little envy coming upon me so I must exit quickly and pray through it!! Have a fabulous week!! Love ya bunches!!!
Our kids have “room time” every evening. This means the hour they stay in their rooms is for “Mommy and Daddy alone time.” We usually spend half of it discussing the day and upcoming schedules as well as church issues…during the last half hour we are only allowed to talk about each other…TV is not allowed (yet, sometimes it sneaks in). We try for 2 dates a month – usually coffee and desert somewhere – one of my favorites was a surprise walk on the beach at sunset. I wish this would work EVERY night, but we do average 3 nights a week where everything goes perfectly.
Forgot to say…enjoy your time together!
Oh please, put your toes in the sand for me. I don’t know when/ if I’ll get to do that for a very long time. But I wanna know you went for a stroll with your fella on the beach.
Praying for you, beautiful-hearted friend!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time!
Are you gonna help them count those votes down there in Florida?!
Linda,
I am in election denial.
Oh you always make me laugh. I am still in my jammies and I am not at the beach. I just finished cleaning the house and now I am headed for the shower.
Take that walk girlfriend . ;)
Love,
Patty
p.s. check out my blog. A blog friend is giving away 2 Starbuck gift cards tomorrow(if you voted).
You. need. the. caramel. apple. cider.
Panama City is beautiful. We used to live in Pensacola and I miss the white sand beaches SOOOOO much! Hope you get out and enjoy them.
Oh Lisa, how you have got me to thinking….
We’ve been married for close to eight years, have three children (ages 5, 3 and 8 months) and we have never – NEVER – been away (even for one night) without our children. How I dream of such a time! Enjoy.
Hope you are having a wonderful, renewal time with your husband and friends. We just returned from the beach and it was the best stress-relieving medicine ever!
Sweet Sister…
I am hoping that you get some much deserved rest and enjoyment from your vacation.

Oooooh..you are so LUCKY (or I guess I should say blessed)! :)
I did want to say, even though you are in election denial, thank you for posting that link to Piper below. VERY, VERY important perspective for all of us especially today.
Have a fabulous time with your man, friend!
Some of our most precious times together are unscheduled…riding in the car, getting ready in the morning, etc. I don’t sit down much when I’m at home, but when my husband asks me to sit down with him for a few minutes, I try to stop what I’m doing and pay attention.
Can’t Speak.
Beach Envy.
Lisa: As a fellow or should I say “sister’ PW, and also a brand new “empty-nester” I thought that when our youngest son got married this past summer, we would have so much more TIME for each other!!! Alas, you do, but away time still must be a PRIORITY!
My man and I are getting away for a few days (leaving later on this week) to beautiful Savannah, Georgia. Just me and my sweet man, and I am very excited about it. In fact, our church gave us this trip to honor our 20th year of ministry at our church. (We’ve been married 31 years.)
You young girls – listen up and take heed to make time for your husband, so that when your children grow and go…which is what we raise them to do..leave and cleave…you will have a wonderful growing relationship with your husband!
It’s priority!
Much love,
Georgia Jan
PS: We honeymooned in Panama City! I love the beach in the fall, it is great! Have a great week Lisa – you’re a wise young woman!
Hope you have a fabulous time with your man while your there!
Love ya!
