Because I Have No Words
Psalm 47
1 Clap your hands, all you nations;
shout to God with cries of joy.
2 How awesome is the LORD Most High,
the great King over all the earth!
3 He subdued nations under us,
peoples under our feet.
the great King over all the earth!
3 He subdued nations under us,
peoples under our feet.
4 He chose our inheritance for us,
the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.
Selah
5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy,
the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth;
sing to him a psalm of praise.
8 God reigns over the nations;
God is seated on his holy throne.
9 The nobles of the nations assemble
as the people of the God of Abraham,
for the kings of the earth belong to God;
he is greatly exalted.
Amen my blog friend, amen. Our hope is in Jesus, not the government. Praise the Lord! And I mean that in several ways!!
Thank you for the reminder! I was so upset, but you are right…I was putting my focus in the wrong place.
God Bless!
thank you. am studying psalm 46 with my DH now. will do this one next. Thx 4 the reminder.
This election has carried with it a prevailing sense of sorrow – I’ve seen it on the faces of those voting and have heard it in the voices of those discussing it. It’s not about who won or lost really. It’s about the discord, the ridicule, the chaos that we have endured throughout the process. A freedom that has been fought and died for has been manipulated by the media and served up to us as “the people deserve to know.” I’m all for openness and honesty but I’m not for being told everything but when the candidate went to the bathroom last. I’m not for using the color of one’s skin as an excuse to deride or the actions of one’s children to speculate on their ability to lead. Can we not have dignity and respect come first in the journey to election day? I have for weeks now turned off my television and deleted e-mails unread. The fact that I had to do that heightened my determination to stand apart from the frenzy. God is still on His throne. He still loves me and you and those elected and those who lost. He wants the best for each one of us. And in the end, He’s the winner of the whole show. blessings, marlene
So true… so true! God is up to something… and it’s always something for His glory! We will pray. We will trust. And we will try to stay off of roof tops. :-)
you’ll never change your still the same you are the everlasting GOD you will remain after the day is gone and things on earth have passed everlasting GOD!!!!
Amen sister. He is the same yesterday today and forever
Sister in Christ…You speak great truths. I love your words for today. HE is the one in control…no other.
~r
I just keep focusing on HIM! Knowing he holds our future! No TV today either though! I just can’t bear to watch it all!
This was a great (and encouraging) choice! Thanks for that…
Xandra
Let’s rejoice and be glad. Today is one step close to our homecoming. Sure, bad stuff or discouraging stuff happens everyday but, Glory to God one day that will cease and we will walk hand in hand with the Lord forever more.
Amen, my friend. I had a similar thought last night in the midst of it all. Stop by my blog if you get bored doing nothing! :-)
Amen and Amen…preach it sister. God is The One who puts men in power and takes them out. He has allowed this…we need to keep our focus on Him. He is moving the pieces into play on the chess board and we need to be paying attention and be salt and light,so when the blinders fall off they will know Who to turn to.
I wrote on my blog about this same thing – Psalm 45:6 was the verse that came to my mind. Amazingly (to me) is how often God used evil rulers for His glory. God is God!
I am disappointed in America, to say the least. They devalue the unborn life as well as the elderly. This was in no way a surprise to God and I am trusting in Him as the days go by. Thanks for the encouraging words. We read out of Proverbs this morning about wisdom.
Thanks for the encouraging words.
Amen! I am praying those words!
Lisa,
There’s a really good post on
http://www.mommylife.net titled “Welcoming President Obama”. I thought it really helped set the perspective for the coming years.

I want to join you on that roof top. But then what good would it do? Unless we fell on some mouthy reporters or misguided democrats! Yes God is in control and sometimes He allows us our king–the king we ask for, even when it is not what is best for us at the time. May we learn and grow and burn with a passion for Christ because of the circumstances before us. Our hope in in Christ eternal. (Someone should tell the new guy that if he really wants change, he needs to see Jesus!)
I thought you were on vacation with your husband…and you have blogged how many times this week. Girl, put that laptop down and get your husband by the hand.
And I want to say how great our God is that HE has ORDAINED this moment. And I am proud to say as a Christian, a woman and an African American how proud I am of this day, the united statement from these United States and the love of God that I have seen in TRUE women of God.
Fruits of the Spirit:
love
peace
joy
longsuffering
kindness
goodness
faithfulness
gentleness
self control
Amen.
Well, it’s the day after and while I’m still disappointed I’m not going to fret. This could be the wake up call we needed. You wouldn’t believe how many ‘Christians’ I know who voted for Obama. Someone is dropping the ball and we can’t blame that on the democrats because they never had the ball.
Just one more thing I think I should clarify.
I do not hate the man (Obama) or the party or even the wacko media. I voted this year and will always vote based on character and the word of God. I cannot and will never vote for a man, reguardless of party, that supports abortion. I don’t care how much money they promise me. It’s not worth a life. If the day comes when both parties support this, I simply will not vote. Trust me, I could really rant here but I will spare you.
That is all.
Good thoughts today, Lisa.
PS-I thought you said you had no words. :-)
I like your post-election post much better than mine!
Well said and those who keep their minds on Him?
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. ~Isaiah 26:3
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I needed this reminder today!
most complete words of all!! Love, Leigh
These are good words with which to encourage ourselves and others.
If we were always surrounded by people who agreed with us and life was never challenging, we would feel our need for God. Challenge is good. Maybe not good for the country, but good for my relationship with Christ because it brings me to my knees.
Wonderful Words of Life!!! sing them over again to me!! Beautifully written and such comfort in times like these! Thank you, sister! We must stay the course! AMEN!
