I love this clip. I can watch it over and over. I love the look on Simon’s face when you rests his face in his hands, get that silly grin on his face and sighs…

Sad but true is that someone will come along and redo Miss Susan and try to turn her into something more presentable, when the way she is…is pretty darn perfect.

I’ve watched this over and over and over again! I even googled “I dreamed a dream” and listened to the professionals sing it.

    Susan Is Great!!

My husband showed me this clip a couple of days ago and I was flabbergasted! I’ve watched it a dozen times since then and have bawled like a baby every time. I love it when the little guy (or girl) wins!!! I also love it when you see someone, like Simon and Pierce, humbled. She is amazing! I think her talent is bigger than some reality show for sure!

    Hope you’re enjoying your vacation!

I’m not exaggerating…I think this is one of the best moments on tv…ever…better than Elvis on Ed Sullivan…and…btw..I’m not that old

I guessed that’s where you were sending us! Love it.

Welcome!

Hi... I'm Lisa and as the tagline says, also a preacher's wife. I began this website in 2007 just prior to the Facebook revolution when mom blogs were a relatively conflict-free zone for sharing recipes and stories about our latest parenting fails.

Fast-forward a few years...

Luke and I continue to serve the same family of believers in North Alabama where we've called home for over 16 years.

The boys are grown and gone, we have an incredible daughter-in-law and the baby McKay is living her best life as an only child while working and going to college.

I am a full-time corporate employee and still love to write and teach Scripture. The last two years haven't been kind to public events but it's been during these trying times that the Lord has revealed the importance of the local church reclaiming discipleship using the gifts of those within the body. The time feels right to refresh the blog as a platform for sharing how God has worked through this process and perhaps encourage other churches to follow. And who knows, there may even be a recipe or more parenting fails. Those don't stop when your kids become adults.

Thank you for visiting.. I look forward to connecting!

My Book

Are you a ministry wife who could use words of encouragement for navigating the ins and outs of serving the church? I wrote a book for that very purpose. Check it out here!
