‘Cute Shoes’ Book Winners!
Have I mentioned lately that y’all are hysterical? If I ever delude myself into believing I’m somehow alone in my struggles you’ve proven me wrong once again. In offering my own confession I must tell you I’m the girl who walks in to Sunday School in that magic window between 10 and 10:15 when class is still taking role and chatting and yes, I blame it on my children. (And no, there isn’t really a magic window but if there were one in the parsonage that I could somehow climb through and be immediately in the church, that’d be awesome. Kind of like the wardrobe in Narnia without all the snow and talking beavers.)
(Stream of consciousness, anyone?)
Thank you so much to all of you who entered this give away! It’s the prayer of my heart that this little offering of mine will be an encouragement to ministry wives and a relationship builder for our churches.
And now, here are the winners (as selected by Random.org) along with how they answered, “Are you typically on time for church?” (My responses are in red. Because there were some things I just had to say.)
=)
No, BUT… I have 5 kids under the age of 7… so between getting myself and them ready….Yeh! You get the picture…. wanna know the worst part?!!? We only leave 2 minutes (LITERALLY) from the church…. OUCH! I’m horrible! (I blame my genes! My family is always late for everything…. even their own funerals! LOL!)Dear SuperMom, ME TOO. To all of it except the 5 kids under 7. Bless you, my sister. I bet y’all are never missing shoes are you?
#86 Tara G. at Mrs. Yellow Hat
I am an on time person, and I think that is due to being a musician- we were always told (and I told those under my baton) that if you’re early, you’re on time, and if you’re on time, you’re late! :)
Tara, I don’t know the kids and I could exist in the philosophy of your Universe. Unless of course we were under your baton. Do they sell child-sized versions of those somewhere? Electrified?
#103 Vickie – January 20, 6:14 P.M.
We have to drive one hour to church – yes, my husband is the preacher – and we’ve been late 3 or 4 times due mostly to weather conditions on the highways. That’s not too bad! Can’t wait to read your book! And even if i don’t win — i’ll still keep praying for you! How’s that? :)
Vickie, you won!! If you were going to pray for me before I’m expecting some overtime now. :) Let me just say if I lived an hour from church I’d be arriving just in time for the altar call.
#111 Jessica – January 20, 11:24 P.M.
I am usually on time for church my husband likes to be there early usually 2 hours early.Jessica, my hubby is always there early. It’s so annoying.

I haven’t left a comment on your giveaway posts, because 1. I’m not a preacher’s wife and 2. I don’t really know any preacher’s wives at the moment.
But I remain SO EXCITED for you. And your book is too stinkin’ cute. I’ve stayed away all week because I was afraid I might be tempted to make up a PW identity just so I could enter the contest.

Though I am not a Peacher’s Wife (yet) I have been a Youth Pastors wife in the past then my hubby and I felt god telling us to leave that ministry.
We know we are called to be Pastors, so this is just a little preparation I am doing, but my Pastor’s Wife will be getting a copy as a gift from me for Valentines!
Thanks so much Lisa, I’m sending you my address now!

Oh, and no, never a lost shoe in my house!
All 14 of them stay put in the entry way and never seem to grow legs and run off… (can you hear the sarcasm in my typing? LOL!)
Or, we never try wearing our Converse with our holiday dress or our sandals in the middle of a snow storm!

I am a pastor’s wife and I am loving this because I overslept this morning and totally missed church! My husband was done preaching and was actually already in the back where he greets people when I walked in during the last song. The LAST song!!!!!!!
My friend laughed at me and said that I gave pastor’s wives hope everywhere, lol!
When I woke up and realized it was indeed Sunday and not Saturday, as my desperate mind was begging, I high-tailed it to church. I had a class to teach after church and am just glad that I didn’t sleep through that!
Now, I will return your blog to you and stop writing a guest post in your comments, unless you want me to, of course! Love and hugs! :0)

Laughing my head off!! TOTALLY something I would do! Love the comment, “you give pastor’s wives hope..” lol That’s a great testimony sister!
Forgot to mention that I can’t wait to buy your book!

Well I just finished your book today and I LOVED it! Im sure it helps that I know you so well because as I was reading it was as if you were in the room and I could hear your voice pouring out from the pages!
It was smart and funny….I laughed and cried! Cried mostly at the possibility of you leaving us….oh how I hope God sees it fit that you stay here for always! Your words taught me though that our lives are in God’s hands and if He moves us in another direction, yes it may be sad, but He has a plan that we cannot even begin to imagine! (Like His plan of bringing you here to us!!!) You were just as real in this book as you are in real life! I love having you as a mentor and knowing that you too may have chicken nuggets underneath the seats in your car! It just confirms that you are indeed human and approachable!
To all of you who think this is just for the “preacher’s wife”, think again! I learned a lot about the joys, struggles, and expectations of being a preacher’s wife from the eyes of a layperson. I feel Lisa’s book shows us how as a body of Christ we can lift up our pastor and his family with love and support, while it shows us how much they love and labor over us, their church body.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it and can’t wait for your next book…(you are working on one, right? ha) Oh, and I need you to sign my book Wednesday, “With love to my fave BFF”….hahaha JUST KIDDING. AGAIN.
Your wise-cracking BFF,
Brooke
