It wasn’t about the stuff until I was the recipient of it..
Ya’ll, I’m exhausted from the day’s festivities but had to pop in for one moment to tell you I am posting this from my BRAND NEW LAPTOP that my darling husband scrimped and saved and surprised me with.
Here is my new love:
More later. Much more.

Well, guess you ought to keep that guy around another year or so. ;-))
Pretty cool. And I loved your headline about how it’s not about the stuff until we’re the recipient. I totally concur. Have to admit I was pretty interested in(and pleased with) my own stocking.
The preacher loves his wife,
The preacher loves his wife,
Hi-ho (ho, ho, ho!), the derry-o,
The preacher bought a Dell!
(One of these days you’re gonna block me, I just know it!!)
Be still my geeky heart.
That’s as beautiful as a sapphire to me.
Have fun with your new toy!
Oh, I love surprises! Well done!
Oh wow! So cool! I came by to wish you a great Christmas but It seems that is a given!!
I heard the Hallelujah chorus as the picture appeared on the screen!
Very cool!
Oh I bet that was a gift that made you very happy. Glad to hear you had a good day! God Bless!
Note to self: “Thou shalt not covet … thou shalt not covet …” :) Just kidding–totally happy for you!
I am so impressed with your man. Luke and Maury were talking to Clay the other night about him needing a flat sreen tv, and I was thinking they needed to hush. You know the more I think about that gift your hubby got you, maybe he needs to keep talking. Maybe he will rub off on mine.

My computer lights dimmed a little bit and all I could see was a spotlight on the picture…..
Very cool my friend. And, I’m completely jealous 100%!
Love,
Fran
Great gift!
I can relate to the title of the post. We had a get-together with friends (about 4 couples) and as everyone arrived with gifts, we all agreed we wouldn’t do the same next year – we wouldn’t spend money on gifts. We would just spend time together. Then, we began opening presents and I got some really beautiful things. I said, “forget the ‘get-together’, I want the loot!!”. ha ha…..
Enjoy your laptop!!
Oh yes!!! My one and only brother’s love language is electronics and thus I received a new laptop last Christmas and I love your new toy!!! Luke is the man!!
I am soooooo Happy for you!!!!!
hope to be hear more from you,, as you tell the wonderful stories you write us!!marina
Girl, I am oh, so envious. That was the only thing on my wish list this year, and it looks like it’s gonna be a Valentine’s Day present instead.
OH well…ENJOY!
/\/\/\/\/\ Thunderous Applause coming from Ft. Lauderdale…that puppy is SWEET!!!!
He did GREAT on the gift this year! What a wonderful surprise, and a generous gift!
ENJOY it!
I believe that when husbands go ‘above and beyond’ for their sweetie, they deserve applause! I know he can’t hear it, but you can tell him he received a standing ovation from someone he doesn’t know today (me). BTW – I agree with hubby – you have a gift. I enjoy everything you write and look forward to more of the way you weave spirituality and daily craziness. That’s real life girl!
I started thinking after I posted my comment above . . . I want to just request this now . . . When I buy a copy of your first book, (cuz it’s coming) will you autograph it for me like we’re BFF’s? That’d be really cool! . . . To my fellow Internet Cafe chick, Darnelle: Your writings have inspired me and . . . (Well, you can work on it ;)
