I heard a quote on K-Love, told by Michael W. Smith… it said “No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done.. everyone can come to the cross.” I love it! Thanks for sharing this!

He has a powerful witness with a difficult crowd. I’m glad the Lord is using him.

Amazing testimony. He is an example that we can’t assume we know someone’s heart just by seeing what is outside.

My husband used this in a youth service about a month ago. It was extremely powerful and made a huge impact on our teens.

I read his autobiography last summer and it took me quite a while to get his story off my mind. I mean that in a good way.

I have wanted to read his book since I first heard about it. Eventually, I will get around to it! That is an amazing testimony!!!

    Isn’t God the coolest?

The best part, to me, is that we’re all just sinners. It’s not really as amazing to me that God could save “that guy” as it is that He could save me from my self-righteousness.

Pharisees never see the need for Jesus, unlike the woman at the well.

Someone please tell me who this dude is? I didn’t get to the end without thinking how powerful that was.

I have no idea who he is, but that really doesn’t matter. What matters is that he points us to Jesus.

Man! I love that he says “you get the gift of understanding life”. Its such a precious thing to know why we are here, Who we are here for.

I agree with Kelly. Easier for God to save him than someone who thinks they have it all together.

Amazing love – how can it be – that a King would die for me?

Lod, bless Brian as he raises his daughter – help him stay clean and close to you Jesus.

Help us ALL to say clean and close – Amen

Hmm…I think I went on a date with him once, lol…j/k. You know I had to say that, Lisa! That was awesome though..It just goes to show you what God takes us all out of. He might look rough to us girlie girls, but we looked just like him on the inside before our Lord changed us completely!

Welcome!

Hi... I'm Lisa and as the tagline says, also a preacher's wife. I began this website in 2007 just prior to the Facebook revolution when mom blogs were a relatively conflict-free zone for sharing recipes and stories about our latest parenting fails.

Fast-forward a few years...

Luke and I continue to serve the same family of believers in North Alabama where we've called home for over 16 years.

The boys are grown and gone, we have an incredible daughter-in-law and the baby McKay is living her best life as an only child while working and going to college.

I am a full-time corporate employee and still love to write and teach Scripture. The last two years haven't been kind to public events but it's been during these trying times that the Lord has revealed the importance of the local church reclaiming discipleship using the gifts of those within the body. The time feels right to refresh the blog as a platform for sharing how God has worked through this process and perhaps encourage other churches to follow. And who knows, there may even be a recipe or more parenting fails. Those don't stop when your kids become adults.

Thank you for visiting.. I look forward to connecting!

My Book

Are you a ministry wife who could use words of encouragement for navigating the ins and outs of serving the church? I wrote a book for that very purpose. Check it out here!
